RENO, NV - Wednesday, we told you about a Good Samaritan who found herself getting punished by the consequences of her good deed.
A woman we’ll call Lee stopped by the roadside in Cold Springs to help a woman who had just escaped an ex-boyfriend. However, the boyfriend pursued them, and forced Lee into oncoming traffic. No one was hurt, but Lee's vehicle suffered nearly $4,000 damage.
On Thursday she was told the DA’s victim and witness assistance center will be covering the deductible on her car insurance.
A KOLO-8 viewer has also stepped up to pay for her rental car, but the rental company refused to take the payment.
The suspect, Jess Bailor, remains at large. He is facing kidnapping and battery with a deadly weapon charges.
