SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Netflix has been slammed by three days of
big technical problems that have severely limited the number of
DVDs it has been sending out.
A spokesman for Netflix Inc. says the DVD-by-mail service was able to send out some discs on Wednesday. But it shipped none on Tuesday and hasn't shipped any Thursday morning either.
The problems affect all of Netflix's 55 shipping centers. The company hasn't specified the problems, nor has it identified the root cause.
Spokesman Steve Swasey says about a third of the company's 8.4
million subscribers are currently waiting for DVDs held up by the problems.
