Police shot a man who was holding a knife to a
woman's throat in a domestic disturbance this morning at a Reno
The man who was living in the apartment with the woman is
reported in serious, but non-life threatening condition.
Several officers responding to a call about a domestic
disturbance heard a woman screaming inside the apartment and broke
through the door just after eight o'clock this morning.
Police say several shots were fired and one struck the man in
Neighbors say police had responded to disturbances at the
apartment before, most recently last night.
No names have been released.
The man was taken to Washoe Medical Center where he is being
treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The officer who shot the man has been on the force eight or nine
years. He has been placed on paid administrative leave.
