It took nearly 2-years but a former Reno nurse is finally on a path to gain custody of her granddaughter.
In a decision released today a reno judge set out a 6-months transition schedule to have the little girl, placed with her grandmother.
The child *has been living with a foster couple since shortly after her birth.
Last year, washoe social services gave the couple, custody.
But in this latest decision judge charles mcgee noted that nevada law and a recent state-supreme-court decision favors blood relatives unless it can be shown that would be detrimental to the child.
The judge says he found no such evidence, that staying with her grandmother would hurt the little girl.
