The top five candidates for governor...squared off this morning, in a roundtable breakfast, at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino.
On the menu...economic development.
They were excited about Nevada's future...and how they can help shape it, if elected as your next governor.
All of the candidates agree...Nevada is a wonderful place to do business.
The breakfast included: Senator Bob Beers, Congressman Jim Gibbons, Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson, Lieutenant Governor Lorraine Hunt, and Senator Dina Titus -- the five *top candidates for governor.
They talked about how business and industry are central to the state.
They said we need to do more than just attract business from California.
Some of the candidates believe we need a qualified workforce...that includes dealing with immigration issues.
One person voiced her concern about immigration reform...and how, if we lost those workers, she says Nevada would lose 20-percent of its workforce.
The crowd was mostly business people and politicians...so they were interested in the topic.
I was told Jim Gibson received the most applause, and had the most people shake his hand afterwards.
I was also told Dina Titus gave a spirited debate.
Her platform as "E" Governor...standing for economic development, education, energy, environment, and ethics, appealed to voters.
