It was a year ago today that Pope John Paul the second passed away.
A crowd of some 60-thousand pilgrims gathered in Saint Peter's Square to remember the exact moment of his death, at 9:37 p-m.
Vatican officials said more than 100-thousand people to joined in recitation of the rosary prayer with Pope Benedict the sixteenth at that moment.
Bells also tolled at Saint Peter's Basilica and at the late pope's home cathedral in Krakow, Poland in remembrance.
