School Gun Rumors Run Out of Control

It all began when a student heard what he thought was a threat...
But, through the web site "Myspace" and instant messaging rumors spread like wildfire overnight and by this morning, students, parents, and officials at Spanish Springs High School were not only confused but concerned for their safety.
We break down what happened and what school officials are doing about rumor control...
Andrea White was one of the many parents who took their students home for the day...
She heard the rumor from other parents and her son Zack this morning.
"My friend emailed me and said there was going to be shootings at school," White said.
The story continued to spread to the students and parents through text messaging and the popular website Myspace.
While administrators say the problem was taken care of
Tonight we know the source of the incident, but initially parents we spoke with thought the problem was stemming from the recent immigration bill...
Just yesterday the principal put a ban on wearing flags inappropriately...because several students walked out of class wearing a large Mexican flag...
