Washoe County School District trustees have
approved a shuffle in class times to better coordinate bus
Beginning in the fall, middle school students will attend class
from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. High schools will be in session from 8
a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Elementary school times will vary, starting from 9 a.m. to 9:30
a.m. and ending from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
District administrators estimate the changes will save $600,000
The new times are a compromise after parents, teachers and
students complained that an initial proposal would have upset
family schedules and after school activities.
The proposal would have had high schools start at 7:30 a.m. and
middle schools at 9:30 a.m.
