SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco police say 25 people have been arrested for public intoxication as the city mourned the 49ers' Super Bowl loss.
Police said in a statement Sunday that the number of arrests was from a preliminary count, and a final count would not be available until Monday.
The city had braced for possible problems as disappointed fans left bars where many had watched the Niners lose 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens.
Dozens of officers and a helicopter patrolled the Mission District, which had been the center of celebrations and damage caused by fans after the Niners' NFC Championship Game and the Giants' World Series win last fall.
Police reported earlier Sunday that fans appeared to be well behaved after the game ended.
