Delta Airlines on Tuesday added two special flights from Reno to Salt Lake City to help Nevada fans get to the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
Krys Bart, director of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said
Delta added a midmorning flight on Wednesday and Thursday to
accommodate demand.
Regular flights on those days were quickly filled after No. 20
Nevada won the Western Athletic Conference tournament Saturday and
tournament berths were announced a day later.
"Delta has come up with the answer for fans who are looking to
avoid the snowy road conditions on an eight-hour drive to Salt Lake
City," Bart said. "The airport has asked for more service for our
community and Delta has responded."
Bart said fans should check Delta's web site for specific flight
information.
The 5th seeded Wolf Pack will take on 12th seed Montana in
Thursday's opening round.
