Missing Hiker Sought in Sierra Nevada

BISHOP, Calif. (AP) - Searchers combed part of the Sierra Nevada on Wednesday for a hiker reported missing last week.

The Inyo County Sheriff's Department said Ric DeVan, 44, of San Diego, failed to return from a solo hike and his family reported him missing on Friday.

His last known location was taken from a register book he signed at the summit of 13,085-foot Mount Goode.

About 40 members of search-and-rescue agencies were looking for
DeVan.
