Reno could be losing its rank as the third most populous city in the state.
Its Number Two status already has been taken over by Henderson.
Now, North Las Vegas is about 26-thousand people behind.
State Demographer Jeff Hardcastle says Reno has 207-thousand
residents and North Las Vegas, a little over 180-thousand.
Las Vegas is an easy first with 570-thousand residents and
Henderson is second at 241-thousand.
Percentage-wise, the fastest growth is in Fernley. The bedroom
community east of Reno grew by nearly 19 percent last year to
It's ninth in the city list, ahead of Boulder City, but behind
Vegas, Henderson, Reno, North Las Vegas, Sparks, Carson City,
Pahrump and Elko.
