The weekend's snow is being followed by bitter cold weather across northern Nevada, but forecasters promise improvement by the middle of the week.
Temperatures are in the low teens this morning in the
Reno-Carson City area and are hovering around zero in the Lake
Tahoe Basin. Ely hit nine below.
Little improvement is expected tonight, but readings should
begin heading back into the 50s by Wednesday.
A weekend storm left several inches of new snow in the mountains
and an inch or two in the valleys.
The 24-hour storm total Sunday night at Northstar night was
seven to ten inches, and Mammoth reported a total of 12 to 13
