The Washoe County School district announced that O'Brien Middle School student, Sarah Beckman, will join the two other spelling bee finalists to advance to the state contest in Las Vegas.
Beckman was cut from this week's spelling bee put on by Washoe County for incorrectly spelling the word: discernible.
However, there are actually two ways to spell the word and Beckman used one of the correct spellings... she made no initial complaint, and the rules stated an appeal needed to be filed before the next word.
The organizers of the spelling bee say this is a one time only resolution.
They also point out this will prevent the threatened legal action to stop the state contest by an attorney hired by Beckman's family.
