RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol says a 22-year-old
man was killed when a pickup truck blew a tire and rammed head on
into his commercial van.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 395
near Golden Valley.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
Investigators said the driver of the pickup was heading north when his left front tire blew and he lost control of the vehicle.
The truck careened through the median and into oncoming traffic, striking the van.
Officers says the driver of the van was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say it doesn't appear he was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital for undisclosed injuries.
