CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Sheriff's deputies in Carson City have
recovered more than a dozen weapons stolen during a burglary at a
pawn shop in Fallon last month.
Carson City Sheriff's Chief Deputy Steve Schuette says 911 dispatchers received an anonymous report just before 5 a.m. that
the guns had been left in Fuji Park in South Carson City.
Deputy Jimmy Surratt found 18 guns in bags and on the ground in the park. Schuette said the weapons and bags were covered in mud and dirt which could indicate that the items had' at one time been buried.
All but two of the guns serial numbers matched those stolen from
Sierra Jewelry and Loan in Fallon on June 6.
