Nevada Basketball Hosts North Carolina Dec. 31

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada's new basketball schedule is out. And
it's a good one.

The Wolf Pack will host North Carolina in a nationally televised basketball game on New Year's Eve, one of seven opponents on the
2008-09 schedule who earned post-season invitations last season.

Other highlights include a pair of Pac Ten foes - the home opener against Oregon State on Nov. 22 and a road game against the California Bears on Dec. 20.

Southern Illinois, Pacific, Montana State, Portland and San Diego also are on the schedule.

Coach Mark Fox says it's a non-league lineup that will allow the Wolf Pack to have a very strong strength of schedule.

The Tar Heels played in last season's NCAA Final Four. Tip off for that game on December 31st has not been set but it is expected to be a night game.
