RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada law enforcement agencies say illegal use of fireworks won't be tolerated over the Fourth of July holiday - or any other time either.
Reno Fire Marshal Bill Burney says no warnings will be issued this weekend, and people caught using fireworks will be cited or arrested.
In Washoe and Douglas counties, penalties for using fireworks can include $1,000 in fines and up to six months in jail.
Authorities say besides the risk of personal injury, fireworks pose wildfire threats to entire communities.
