Unhealthy Air Returns to Reno Area

RENO, Nev. (AP) - A shift in the wind has brought a return of smoky skies and unhealthy air to the Reno area.

The Washoe District Health Department issued a Stage 1 health alert for the region.

Health officials Wednesday urged children, the elderly, or people with heart or respiratory problems to stay inside and use air conditioning.

The pollution is from hundreds of wildfires that continue to burn in central and northern California.
