Mountain Lion Killing Sheep

By  |

Authorities are on the look out for a mountain lion suspected of killing sheep on the north edge of Fallon near the Carson River.
The latest attack was reported a short time before Christmas.
State wildlife officials say it was determined to be that of a
mountain lion based on physical evidence at the scene.
Krista and Michael Blea say they've lost 17 sheep over the last
two years.
The family initially suspected dogs were behind all of the
attacks until a mountain lion was sighted.
Most of the attacks have occurred between midnight and four
o'clock in the morning.
If a mountain lion is spotted or suspected, residents should
contact the Churchill County Sheriff's Department at 423-3116.
