A Reno teenager has been arrested on suspicion of
drunken driving in connection with a crash that killed a passenger
of his.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Benito Munoz lost
control of his vehicle early this morning on an icy U-S 395 on-ramp
from Villanova Drive in Reno, causing it to spin out of control and
overturn.
One of his four passengers was ejected and pronounced dead at
the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of
family members.
Munoz and the other passengers escaped with minor injuries.
Troopers say all five occupants apparently were not wearing seat
belts.
Munoz also was arrested on suspicion of having no valid driver's
license and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.
The 4:20 a-m accident is under investigation.
