It was a celebration of life today...for a Sparks solider whose life was cut tragically short.
Army Private, Josh Morberg, was killed in combat December 27th in Iraq.
The military says he saved many lives with his courage and bravery.
That's how he was remembered today at Sparks Christian Fellowship.
It started out with sharing stories.
The family had memory books in the lobby of the church...for those who knew Josh to write down a moment they were fond of.
There were so many in Josh's short 20 years.
During the service, there was a slide show...with Josh's family and friends.
It showed his love of fishing, hunting, music, and the military.
His family says Josh's childhood dream was joining the Army.
He fulfilled that in June of oh-4.
Josh had only been in Iraq 10 days before a bomb exploded near his patrol, killing him.
The army says Josh saved the life of a medic...by leading his unit as they looked for the enemy.
Josh was awarded the bronze star medal, the purple heart, and the combat action badge for his ultimate sacrifice.
In lieu of donations and flowers, the family is asking that you give to "Operation Mom."
It's an organization that gives support to families who have troops overseas.
We've set up a link on our website.

You can make the donations out in Josh's name.
