Snow-covered roadways are to blame for dozens of fender benders, spin outs and accidents throughout the Truckee Meadows. And as roads freeze over..driving conditions will become even more dangerous.
That's why Reno street crews will be out in full force all night long with snow plows. They're also dropping sand and salt to help with traction....and they're urging drivers to their part by slowing down and allowing plenty of time to get wherever they need to go.
This latest storm also caused accidents and traffic snarls on highways all over the truckee meadows, trapping many holiday travelers for the night. Here on Interstate 80 the winter weather also stopped truckers in their tracks. They were steered off at Gold Ranch and began to flood truck stops and line up on the side of the interstate as the waited.
