Police say a 4-year-old girl is home safe after being abducted in South Reno
Detectives say the suspect is a teenage friend of the family.
Authorities say the boy took the little girl from a parking lot on Gentry, put her in his sedan and took off.
After negotiating with the teen for about half-an-hour over the phone Reno police convinced him to drop the girl, back off at her home.
Once he did that, police say he took off in his car.
Following a short chase officers arrested the teen at Wells and Broadway, near the Alder Creek apartment complex in south Reno.
He has been arrested and is being charged with kidnapping.
At this point, police believe he took the girl, to establish a relationship with the girl's older sister.
The child was not hurt and again, she's home safe.
