Work has begun on a 230 (M) Million-dollar expansion at the Peppermill Hotel-Casino in Reno.
Reno Mayor Bob Cashell was on hand today maneuvering some heavy equipment as crews began digging in the casino's south parking lot in preparation for a six-level parking garage.
Peppermill marketing director Bill Hughes told the Reno
Gazette-Journal today that the goal is to create a resort complex.
In addition to the garage with 16-hundred parking spaces, the
plans call for a 600-room, 17-story all-suites hotel tower.
Casino space and new restaurants will added as well as a new
50-thousand-square foot convention center. The project also
includes a spa and salon, new pool and entertainment deck, and
additional retail outlets and arcade.
The overall expansion is scheduled to be completed in the fall
