The state Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from a Reno woman sentenced to 100 years in prison for herrole in the fatal shooting of a man who owed her money for sex.
Melonie Sheppard was convicted last year of first-degree murder
and robbery in the November 2002 shooting of Robert Johnson. She
claimed that jurors got faulty instructions and the facts of the
case didn't support a felony murder conviction.
Justices also rejected an appeal from Kenneth Maurice Grant, who
got a life sentence for the April 2001 murder of a tourist in a Las
Vegas hotel room.
Justices also turned down an appeal from Joseph Antonetti, a
North Las Vegas man sentenced to a no-parole life term in prison
for a December 2002 shooting that killed Mary Amina and injured her
boyfriend, Danny Stewart.
