2 Teens Arrested in South Lake Tahoe Art Burglary

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. -- South Lake Tahoe police made arrests and recovered thousands of dollars worth of art supplies after a burglary and several vandalism cases.

The case started on Friday, September 7th when police took the report of a burglary at an art supply store in South Lake Tahoe. Spray paint and markers totaling about $3000 were missing.

The next day, police began receiving reports of vandalism involving graffiti on buildings, signs, and vehicles. That damage measures in the thousands of dollars.

The investigation led two officers to a home on Silver Dollar Avenue where they found two males, ages 15 and 16 years, who were hiding in a closet. The spray paint and markers were recovered inside the home.

Both teens admitted they were involved in the burglary and one admitted to the graffiti. A third juvenile identified as a suspect is still on the loose.
