Sparks police say wind may to be blame for a glider accident...that left the pilot critically injured.
Eric Larson left yesterday morning from Inyo County, California.
Police say he was trying to set a cross country long distance record, when the glider's wings came apart.
He parachuted to safety, after landing in rocky terrain.
Larson told officers he hurt his legs and hip.
The F-A-A says the crash site stretches for miles.
Investigators have found the main body of the glider, but are looking for parts of the tail and wings.
Witnesses say it's amazing no one was killed.
