The Nevada Highway Patrol says six people were killed on northern Nevada roadways over the long Memorial Day weekend.
One motorcyclist from Zephyr Cove was killed Friday night when he ran into an elk on U.S. 6 about 25 miles east of Ely.
Earlier that day, the patrol says a 74-year-old Pioche man lost control of his car on Route 319 southeast of Ely. The car overturned and the man was ejected.
Also on Friday, a Gardnerville couple was killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 395 about 10 miles south of their hometown.
On Saturday, an Elko man was killed when the pickup he was riding in overturned on Route 293, about 40 miles north of Winnemucca.
An 80-year-old Henderson was killed in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 95 Alternate about 20 miles north of Yerington.
