An investigation continued Saturday into a head-on collision that killed a Gardnerville couple on U.S. 395 about 10 miles south of their hometown.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said the victims, Norman White, 73,
and his wife, Virginia, 70, were in a classic 1955 Pontiac sedan
that collided late Friday afternoon with a pickup.
Troopers said Norman White may have applied the brakes and swerved to the left for some reason, causing his car to travel
sideways into the path of the oncoming pickup.
The pickup driver, Hector Trigueros, 40, of Topaz, Calif., was
flown to a Reno hospital, where he was released after treatment.
