Peace Demonstration

When the Pentagon announced that 2,000 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq so far, anti-war demonstrators all over the country began organizing events.
In Downtown Reno, more than 150 people huddled on the front steps of the federal building to protest the war. As they struggled to keep their candles lit in the wind, they paid tribute to the dead by singing songs of peace and by standing in silence.
The group consisted of people of all different ages and backgrounds…including parents of U.S. soldiers and veterans of previous wars. Many of them expressed that their opposition to the war doesn’t take away form their support for troops currently serving in Iraq.
