Power Outage
15,700 customers in Sparks, Spanish Springs, and Sun Valley lost power for about an hour Thursday afternoon. The power failure originated at a Spanish Springs sub-station at 2:30pm.

15,700 customers in Sparks, Spanish Springs, and Sun Valley lost power for about an hour Thursday afternoon. The power failure originated at a Spanish Springs sub-station at 2:30pm.
Sierra Pacific utilized alternate circuits to restore power while they replaced the failed parts at the sub-station.

Our power was not out for one hour - it was out for twelve!

I was at the grocery store when it went out.. Kinda spooky. You never realize how many lights they have on in there, till there is no light.
