On 05-10-08, at approximately 10:15pm, Sparks Police responded to an accident involving a train and a pedestrian under the McCarran overpass.

Officers arrived on scene and found the victim was deceased with
traumatic injury to his lower body. According to railroad workers who witnessed the accident, three men tried to jump on to an open train car.

The train was east bound at 3-5mph, when the first subject tried to get on. The victim reached up to grab the ladder on the car, and when he tried to step onto the ladder, he slipped and fell under the train.

The victim is unidentified at this time. He is a white male that appears to be in his forties.
