During the Click-It-Or-Ticket campaign, law enforcement officers will be adding extra attention to drivers who aren't wearing their seatbelts. They will especially focus on teen drivers, since Nevada's seat belt usage rate for teens is 15-percent below the national average.
NHP Trooper Chuck Allen says the campaign helps people wear their seatbelts, because the threat of a ticket is more realistic than the threat of a an injury or death from a crash.
Teens who are wearing their seatbelts can also be pulled over and commended, along with getting a coupon for a free doughnut.
