Sparks Police and Fire Department is having problems processing calls made from cell phones. When a caller dials 911 they are asked to press any “key” or say “operator”. The system will work correctly if the caller presses a key, however, if they say “operator” the call will not be completed.
Until the problem is fixed, the public is asked to press “any key” when dialing 911.
Landline phones are not affected by this problem.
