4.7 Quake Followed By 50 Aftershocks As Reno Keeps Rumbling
More than 50 aftershocks were recorded on the west edge of Reno after the largest earthquake in a two-month-long swarm of temblors dumped cans off shelves, knocked pictures off walls and pushed rocks off hillsides along the Sierra Nevada.

We're out and about, traveling the Back-Roads of America, but we heard about the shaker taking place in Reno, I've been in touch with my Granddaughter, who is taking care of our residence, while we're gone, and she said, no damage, but she felt several of them. All is well, out here in the heartland of America, but it seems like every place we go, the people are saying, " spring is late this year " , we was in the Tulsa area a couple days ago, and they have had lots of rain this spring, everything is water-logged. I hope everything gets back to normal in the Reno area, --- From D n V Simar, on the Back-Roads of America.

Eh, I haven't felt a thing yet - I think maybe I am immune since I did grow up in Cali and have felt a dozen big ones ..atleast ! LOL let's rock n roll

I wasn't scared, I had turn off the T.V. I've in California, durning the 7.1 LOMA PRIETA IN SAN FRANCISCO, 1989. DO NOT PANIC! LIVING IN CALIFORNIA. YOU LEARN NOT BE SCARED. THE MOST IMPORTMANT IS CONSENCE & KNOW WHAT TO DO. AND LAST OF ALL "BE THANKFUL TO GOD" THAT YOU ARE OK. HOME & PERSONNELL ITEMS CAN BE REPLACE.

I was asleep when the quake first started. I felt it in my feet first then the next thing you know my whole bed was shaking. It felt like being in a canoe on extrmely choppie water. I looked over at my window and I could visible see it shaking to the point where it was about to break. Thankfully I took the pre-caution to put scotch tape across the window to stablize it incase it was to happen again from the first quake. I have just moved to reno and have never been through an earthquake of this magnitude. It actually has my nerves a little rattled, but things like this are innevitable.

The best way to be prepared is not to panic! The best earthquake prepare kit would be a 3-day supply of the following: 1 gallon of water per day per person, stocked first aid kit, non electric can opener, canned goods, flashlights, extra batteries, battery op radio, blankets, extra clothing, and your rx meds, also keep tylenol, benadryl, and dramamine as earthquakes can cause nausea/motion sickness. If you're inside, stay inside. If you're outside stay outside away from utility poles, trees, and tall buildings. Establish a meeting place with your family if you become separated. Above all...STAY CALM!

This was the scariest thing I have ever been through. We were upstairs in our bedroom, when the big one hit. All I could think of is that we needed to get out of the house fast! Everything flew out of my roll top desk, vanity cabinet contents all over the bathroom floor, we have broken dishes, broken picture frames and art fell off the walls, all my shutters flew open. Truly frightening stuff!

Just to let you guys know, if there is an earthquake...DO NOT GO OUTSIDE!!!! You want to stay inside and stand in a doorway (the strongest structure of your house or apartment) DO NOT GO OUTSIDE!! It's much more dangerous b/c buildings and trees and other structures can fall and cause more damage. However, if you are in a large vacant field that would be the best. Just want everyone to know. I'm from California, and have been through many large earthquakes like these haha. Also, if you are in bed, make sure you stay in your bed and cover your head with a pillow. There are so "sure-fire" ways to protect yourself, but those are the tips I have always been taught. EVERYONE BE SAFE!!!!
