Those who organize each year's celebration say this year is drawing even more visitors than ever before.
Reno Gay Pride is responsible for the 3-day event that brought 7-thousand visitors to our area.
Saturday's festivities began with a parade and quickly followed by live music and entertainment for the rest of the afternoon at the Sands and along the street.
Kevin Ray, with Reno Gay Pride, says the group says the weekend goes beyond fun and entertainment, it's a great way to celebrate everyone's diversity... because the events are open for all to attend.
"Everyone is out celebrating the diversity. And what makes this community strong is the ethnic diversity, the cultural diversity that we celebrate here in Nevada... the uniqueness of Nevada. I would say that's the message."
Reno Gay Pride says they host two major events each year.
Besides this celebration each August, they also organize the Lake Tahoe Winter Fest during the first week of March.
