The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating several reports of fraudulent door-to-door sales of magazines on Lake Tahoe's southeast shore.
Deputies say young male and female adults claimed to be high school students raising money for school events during the sales pitches at homes in Zephyr Cove, Cave Rock and Glenbrook.
They say the perpetrators were not legally licensed to conduct such sales in Douglas County, nor were they students of either of the local high schools.
So far, one person has been arrested, a 20-year-old transient named Latoya Damon.
An investigation is continuing.
