Twenty-seven small earthquakes struck the Verdi-Mogul area on Tuesday alone, according to the US Geological Survey.
No damage was apparent.
USGS says Tuesday's quakes ranged in magnitude from 1.0 to 3.4. The strongest quake, the 3.4, hit at about 8 a.m. The next strongest earthquakes measured: 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 -- all striking around 2:30 p.m.
Geologists say the region began experiencing a sequence of earthquakes in February, and it is impossible to predict if a large quake is to come.

So, a fault line has been reactivated and people feel the earthquakes. How come the USGS isnt putting the fault on their maps and how come the survey is not allowing people to report the quakes. Someone needs to go to UNR and Menlo Park, California to complain.

I just moved here from California... for some dumb reason I didn't think their were earthquakes here and I was told that a few times too!(liars). I freaked out yesterday! I had felt more earthquakes here that I have felt in the last three years in California. I love it here so that's not pushing me back to Los Angeles!.

When I turned 13 I shook the earth! 6.9 quake in Santa Rosa, Calif. that sent my step-sister flying back to denver. Anything under 5.5 don't even wake me up. And let me tell ya'll the wind that took out the power last night was a treat! Candles and cooking over the fireplace till bed time, then the solar lights came out for the remanider of the night, just to be safe, hubby and I have an alzhiemers mom with us. And today the power Company left a 24 hour shut-off notice on the door, if it wasn't for refrigeration and a hot bath I would have been ok with it. So I paid the $800.00 bill. The next time the earth quakes or the wind blows throw a log on the fire, break out the hot dogs, and hope for smores!
