Trucker Accused Of Failing To Stop At Fallon Base's Checkpoint

FALLON (AP) - A trucker from Texas was arrested on drug charges
after authorities said he failed to stop at a security checkpoint at the Fallon Naval Air Station.

28-year-old Jeremiah Thomas was admitted to the base through a
gate on Thursday to deliver an aircraft engine and directed to the
security checkpoint.

Base spokesman Zip Upham says Thomas was quickly pulled over
after failing to stop at the checkpoint.

The Churchill County Sheriff's Office was notified after security personnel said they saw evidence of drugs.

Upham says the base considered the incident a failure to follow
directions and not a security breach.

Thomas was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of
a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
