Calif. Teen Arrested in Elko on Meth Charges

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Elko police say a California teenager is facing drug trafficking charges after he was pulled over for a traffic violation - and gave the officer permission to search his car.

Authorities say about 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $14,000, was found.

Juan Manuel Torres-Mellero of San Bernardino was booked on suspicion of trafficking, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving without a valid license.

Bail was set at $500,000.
