University of Nevada Morale Low

A recent survey shows only a small percentage of faculty and staff is happy working at the University of Nevada-Reno.

The report surfaced during an open forum with the faculty senate.

281 people participated in the survey.

Only 17 expressed satisfaction or positive viewpoints, regarding morale on campus.

Senate members say the common theme was the management style of the administration.

Some accused President John Lilley and Provost John Frederick of micro-managing, and creating a fear of retaliation amongst faculty and staff, if they spoke out on certain issues.

The survey wasn't intended to take the temperature of morale on campus.

Senate members say it was designed to bring to the surface issues affecting people's morale.
