Support Cindy Sheehan Vigils

Local Vigils To Support Sheehan
By  |

Local protestors are calling for an investigation into why President Bush went to war in Iraq, and why American troops are not yet home.
Lisa Stiller, says "We want an exit plan. We want troops home. He's been wishy washy by saying he's reducing the troops but that's not good enough."
The organization "Move-On" says already, 18-hundred brave American men and women have given their lives for Iraq, including Cindy Sheehan's son "Casey." And, protestors say for what?
"There were no weapons of mass destruction, Iraq wasn't a danger because al queda wasn't in iraq, we went to war for bush's personal agenda."
Members of the local Republican party disagree. They say the President clearly had America's interests at heart. And, they stand by President seeing this war all the way until the end, including rebuilding Iraq and establishing a democracy.
Republicans say, instead of protesting, Americans should be supporting the troops. The President said in his weekly radio address "withdrawing our troops from Iraq prematurely would betray the Iraqi people, and would cause others to question America's commitment to spreading freedom and winning the war on terror."
There are three vigils Wednesday Night, one in Double Diamond on Ashworth Court. In downtown Reno at West Street Plaza. In Truckee, in front of the Starbucks at the Safeway complex. And, in North Lake Tahoe at Kings Beach, on Lake Boulevard.
