2 Douglas County Schools Added to Historic Register

MINDEN, Nev. - Two elementary schools in Douglas County have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Gardnerville Elementary School was built in 1928 and exemplifies Neoclassical architectural design. It is still used as a school, though there are more recent buildings also on the site.

State preservation officials say Minden Elementary School opened in 1918 and is a Renaissance Revival architectural style.

Since 1980 it has been used as administrative offices for the Douglas County School District.
