Nevada's blood banks have declared an emergency shortage. Governor Kenny Guinn issued a plea for Nevadans to donate blood.
United Blood Services says it's so low on Type-O negative blood that it's prioritizing hospital deliveries.

The blood bank says it has less than a one-day supply on the shelves.
