A Sparks landmark is coming down, to make way for a new city hall.
Demolition began on the old Dukes Casino on Victorian Avenue this afternoon. The building is being brought down to make room for construction of a new city hall, as part of the new Victorian Square redevelopment project.
Duke's Casino closed more than a year ago, and since then, the building has been empty. The Sparks Redevelopment Agency purchased the property in May.
