RENO (KOLO) -- The average price for a regular gallon of gas in Reno is approaching a record high according to Triple-A.
Triple-A's Web site, which monitors daily gas prices, says the average price for regular unleaded in the biggest little city was $3.38 on Monday. The site says that's only a cent short of the highest daily average for the city ever -- The average price was $3.39 back on May 21, 2007.
According to Triple-A, one month ago Reno drivers were paying about $3.02. One year ago, they were paying roughly $2.95.
The national average is now $3.22.
One expert blames the increased prices on the higher cost of crude oil.
