Several local celebrations marked this flag day.
At Reno's city hall, city officials honored the stars and stripes, while also observing the 230th birthday of the U.S. Army.
The Reno high school junior R-O-T-C presented the flag, and sang the national anthem.
And an army birthday proclamation was also presented.
While in Carson City, a National Guard ceremony at the veterans wall also honored both flag day, and the 230th birthday of the U-S army this morning.
Carson City Mayor Marv Texeria, a veteran of the Air Force, spoke at that ceremony.
Old Glory still waves proudly over Northern Nevada, but flag sales have fallen dramatically from their peak after 9-11.
