Krolicki says the state will have to send out nearly two-point-one million checks. The governor and D-M-V officials have not yet decided if the state controller will issue the checks or outsource the job.
Nevadans will get minimum rebate checks of 75 dollars and
maximum checks of 275 dollars. The precise amount will reflect what
residents paid last year in registration fees.
Rebates will be given on car and truck registrations, and on
motorcycles, RVs and fleets of vehicles owned by businesses.
People age 65 or older who did not register any motor vehicles
in 2004 but who had a state ID card will be sent a 75 dollar check.
