Angle, a Reno Republican, has gathered a following in northern
Nevada by consistently voting against tax increases and pushing an
initiative last fall to cap property taxes in a manner similar to
California's Proposition 13.
Angle says she believes in less government regulation and lower
taxes, and would work to reduce federal fuel taxes if elected to
the sprawling congressional district that represents most of the
state outside of the Las Vegas Valley.
Angle is likely to face Secretary of State Dean Heller and former Assemblywoman Dawn Gibbons -- Congressman Gibbons' wife -- in the Republican primary next year.
